| Author of: FACE TO FACE : A Novel Catherine was born in Colorado and grew up as a pastor's daughter in six or seven towns throughout the state of California. She has loved to write since she was a child, having her first piece published in a national periodical at the age of 12, and since then her byline has appeared in numerous periodicals and book compilations. She has a BA degree in English from Pasadena College/ Point Loma Nazarene University, and took graduate courses at Sonoma State University and New College Berkeley. She completed the Course of Study for Ministers in the Church of the Nazarene. She served as a church musician for 20 years. Cathy and her husband, Larry, have participated in and led volunteer short-term missions teams to Mexico, Africa, Venezuela, Sicily, Rome, France, and Peru. After living in Santa Rosa, California, for 33 years the Lawtons moved to Colorado, returning to Cathy's family roots. Besides their home business, gardening and church activities, they enjoy exploring Northern Colorado, especially the Rocky Mountains. And they love spending time with their two grown children and their spouses, and their four beautiful grandchildren in Colorado and Connecticut. The Lawtons enjoy making new friends and keeping in touch with the "old" ... And they visit an ocean at every opportunity. |
